GNU Octave

Freeware GNU Octave

GNU Octave is cross-platfor software package for working with mathematical models and graphs. The software is written in the programming language C++ and can be implemented in other projects. The program supports a set of functions for solving mathematical problems, but if the user is not satisfied with its functionality, he can download add-ons. GNU Octave is compatible with such software as MATLAB and it supports many of its functions. read more...

Maxima

Freeware Maxima

Maxima, a Computer Algebra System, is a system for the manipulation of symbolic and numerical expressions. It was created in the programming language Common Lisp, the first launch of which took place back in 1982. This utility is designed for analytical and numerical calculations, as well as the formation of graphs of functions. This development has several graphical user interfaces (wxMaxima, XMaxima and other). The program provides the most accurate numerical calculations as applied fractions, whole numbers (as a floating-point arbitrary precision, and without it). It should be noted that by using pseudographics, the application can operate in batch mode. The system has a fairly intuitive interface, despite the fact that it can hardly be called modern. read more...
